Angelica is currently translating Luce Irigaray’s magnum opus Speculum de l’autre femme from French to Swedish. It will be published with Thales Publishing House.
In Speculum de l’autre femme, Luce Irigaray inserts a speculum into the history of Western thought and records its (distorted) reflections of the feminine. In her reversed history that begins with Freud and ends with Plato, the feminine stretches out of its secluded, hidden role as the silvering that allows the male philosopher to mirror himself, and begins to reflect back unto herself. Never defined, the feminine itself, for itself, is mirrored in Irigaray’s language, in a poetic discourse that breaks with traditional academic writing in order to intimate new wor(l)ds.
